Crunch! Munch! Apples!

There are a lot of apple activities showing up on Pinterest.  I guess great minds think alike!  :)  We had our apple week this past week.  Here are some fun new things I added to the stand by's.

Apple Books!  I have slight obsession with book making with the preschoolers. I would of loved to add real apple seeds to each page but I didn't have enough.  (I needed about 100 seeds for the kids to make their books).  We just taped a few on the front of the book.

These are an adaption of the apple trees we made 2 years ago.  I always have different supplies laying around, so I use what and that way each year they look a little different.  The trunks are made with sturdy cardboard.

I added this game in our sensory bin.  It was a hit!  I had previously just laid this out on a table in the past, but figured the bin was a great place for those little pom poms to roll around in.

Here are more fun apple activities:
Apple Taste Testing  (We sampled Pink Lady, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious and Granny Smith.)
Apple Stamping  (Make sure you have a good knife to cut...otherwise your stamps will be lopsided)
Balancing "apples" (beanbags) on your head like in the book Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss
Apple Pie Playdough (add apple pie spices to your playdough), pie tins, rollers, slicers, pie servers, etc.

Happy Appleing!
