Color Wheel and Color Mixing

It's that time of year again to make our annual color wheel!  We've made a large wheel for our classroom for the past 2 years.  Check out #1 and #2 and now #3:

The children painted each section and then gathered collage items from our art center to glue on to coordinating colors.

We also made personalized color wheels.  One was made with paper and paint, the other was a paper plate and crayons.

We also did a fun color mixing activity.  They choose what ever colors they wanted to see what color they could make.  95% of them turned brown or gray!  :)

Shaving Cream, paint and freezer paper provided the materials.

After they were finished finger painting we impressed their masterpiece onto a piece of construction paper.

  1. I love each and every one of those color mixing activities! We did a little color mixing of our own last week - but yours was a much smarter plan than I put together:)

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are...leave a comment! :)
