Color Wheel: 2012 Version

We love making color wheels in preschool.  I try to do a version of one each school year.  This year we made our biggest one yet!  It measures about 3 ft!  I gave each child a baggie with a note that asked the children to go on a color hunt at their home over the weekend.  Their "homework" (btw, they loved having homework!!) consisted of them searching for 6 items (one for each color) that could be glued on to the color wheel.  Items ranged from craft objects, recycled goods, even broken toys.  They brought them back to school and after we painted the color wheel, they glued them on.

After both classes brought in their collected items we have a beautifully filled color wheel!

  2. This is so great! I love that you incorporated "homework"- which probably made them even more excited and invested in this project.

    1. That is what made it so exciting. I told them it was practice for Kinder! :)
