Trashy Tuesday: CD's

Have some old CD's lying around?  I do and so do all the parents at my school.  CD's make great pieces for art work.  Here are a few things I've done and some fun stuff I've got going on in the works. :)

Flying Saucer/Planet

Wishing Wall: This project was inspired by our local Children's Museum.  If you look beyond the flying tub you'll see a wall filled with cd's.  On each of those cd's is a wish that a child wrote.  Strung together all those wishes are viewed by everyone. **this photo is from the museum**  We strung ours on a blank wall across the windows in our classroom and it was stunning!
 Some ideas:
  1. Tiny Color Wheels: Using paints/markers or teeny tiny scraps
  2. Christmas Ornaments
  3. Clock: Use stickers for the numbers, add hands
  4. Reflection Experiments
Get creative!  I would love to see your CD project!  Link up if you have one!

  1. I wish I had something to post! I just found a bunch of CDs last night... assuming I can convince my husband to let me steal some, we'll totally try to make something and link it up. What a fun idea!

  2. Thanks! :) I'm slowly running out of ideas, so I need to steal, I mean borrow others! :)

  3. I linked to a post I did earlier this summer where my daughter and I hung CDs from our trees in our back yard. They looked so pretty. Unfortunately, we had to dismantle our play cafe because the mosquitoes in our back yard got so out of hand this summer and we just couldn't play out there anymore. Maybe we can get something up and going again next spring. Either way, I think CDs are great crafting/decorating materials!

  4. I snuck some old CDs from my husband and just posted what we made :) Totally fun! My son has no idea really what CDs are... it was pretty funny.

  5. Haha! That's great! I love the activities everyone posted!!

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are...leave a comment! :)
