Matching Games

I recently bought some super cute fabric (I don't sew by the way) and thought I could make a cute pillow for my son's reading chair.  Ya, right.   I found however that each of the cute robots were atop a square.  LIGHTBULB moment!  I cut them up to make a matching game!  I went to work...with a little help from some friends at school.
Here we are sorting them into like piles.
Are they just not the cutest little robots?  I'm thinking of laminating them to make them a bit durable...but maybe I like the natural feel of fabric.  What do you think?

Here are some fun matching games I found while browsing my new favorite place, Pinterest.  (If you need an invite, let me know!)

Seriously...I could go on and on forever!  Here is my Pinterest account if you would like to see more.                http://pinterest.com/messyjessi/

  1. I like the fabric feel - It adds another dimension of discovery to have some texture. They are perfect and super cute!

  2. These are adorable! What a great idea! I have a thing for fabric. I can't look at fabric without touching it. You should see me in a fabric store. I don't know what it is, but I just HAVE to touch it. So I say DEFINITELY let the children feel the fabric. :)

  4. Those look great! Did you just turn under the edges and "hem" them? Or are they two-ply and stuffed with something or have batting in the middle? I too am a fabric junkie! And I have several scraps that I was thinking of making into bean bags but haven't because it's so tedious. And I'm so glad! This is sooo much better!!!

  5. @ Sarah...I didn't do anything to them. Just cut the fabric. I'm sure they will get stringy at some point. I don't sew, so maybe I should put some thing around them for a border?

  8. I actually saw your robot matching game featured somewhere else on the Internet - perhaps Pinterest? They are adorable little guys (and I totally think you could make a pillow for your own little guy!). I'm so glad you linked to your Pinterest account!
