Painting Impressions

I've had these computer monitor screen filters at my beloved Treasures 4 Teachers a long time ago.  I always wanted to make some of those nifty 2 sided paint easels, but have yet to find the time.  (hmm...I see a parent project in our future!)
So, the other day I decided to just put them on the table and allow the kids to paint.  We did some more color mixing and then did an impression with paper.

Painting.  FYI..these are super easy to clean!

After we painted onto the screen we pressed paper on top of the paint, pressed & rubbed and then peeled it off.  It left this beautiful impression.

  1. SO fun!!!! And you know what, we were randomly talking about color mixing @ dinner (she hadn't told us she did this project) and guess who knew how to mix colors to make purple, orange and green? We always talk about it, but it didn't really sink in until yesterday, good job teaching!

  2. I did printmaking with my daughter a few weeks ago and it was the best project we've ever done. The results are almost guaranteed to be satisfying! I framed the prints and now they hang in our playroom.
