Trashy Tuesday: Baby Food Jars

I once put a sign out for a need of baby food jars.  Boy oh boy did I get them!  So many in fact that 2 years later I'm still trying to think of more ideas.  Here are some of the things that we did with them.

1. Tealight holders (I think these were either a valentine or mothers day gift)
Simply water down white glue, paint it on and then stick tissue paper over it.

2. Planters: We planted seeds and because it is clear, we were able to see the roots spreading.  **Not great for surviving plants because there is no drainage**

3. Water Pollution Experiment: Read my post here about this.

4. Noise makers
5. Paint Holder
6. Circle stamps
7. Snow Globes
8. Put a bath salt we made for moms inside
Here are things I want to try:
9. Make candles in the jar
11. Paper Weight w/colored sand (would be a good Father's Day gift?)

I'm sure there is more....

  1. Great list of ideas. I still have a baby food jar with colored sand in it in my office...from years ago. Guess it does make a good gift!

  2. I host a weekly link- up "What Would You Do With It? Wednesdays " and I'm keeping the linkies open for a year or so... I'd love to link up your post with the other baby food jar ideas! This week's challenge (posted on Wednesdays) is plastic laundry soap containers. Here is the link for the baby food jars: http://childcentralstation.blogspot.com/2011/02/what-would-you-do-with-it-wednesday.html I hope you'll stop by and share some of your great ideas!

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are...leave a comment! :)
