Today we made homemade Zucchini Bread (muffins). We were a bit nervous at how they would react to the green veggie being mixed into their bread. First, we showed the kids the zucchini. Had them feel it, smell it, talk about different ways you can eat it, etc. Then we "mulched" it in the blender.
Adding the ingredients from the recipe, talk about the different measurement tools, and why it's important to follow a recipe. Pour, mix, stir.
When we came in from snack, the classroom smelled of heaven. And it tasted just as fantastic! Two thumbs up from 95% of the class!!
