Zucchini Bread

Today we made homemade Zucchini Bread (muffins).  We were a bit nervous at how they would react to the green veggie being mixed into their bread.  First, we showed the kids the zucchini.  Had them feel it, smell it, talk about different ways you can eat it, etc.  Then we "mulched" it in the blender.

Adding the ingredients from the recipe, talk about the different measurement tools, and why it's important to follow a recipe.  Pour, mix, stir.

When we came in from snack, the classroom smelled of heaven.  And it tasted just as fantastic!  Two thumbs up from 95% of the class!!

  1. i've found that Garrett will always try a few bites of something he has helped make! Yay for a yummy day in your class :)

  2. Yum.. I have never made Zucchini bread from scratch, what a great idea.
I'm with Jennie-- the more you let the kids be involved the more likely they are to try new things.
    I love cooking with Hailey!
You should make some banana pancakes one day :)

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are...leave a comment! :)
