Color Wheel

I came across an AMAZING blog, Preschool Daze. I'm sure many of you have this bookmarked, but if not...do it now!! She had her class put together this amazing color wheel. I have been trying to come up with one for the past few months and couldn't figure out a fun way to make one. Until I came across Preschool Daze . So, I am taking her fabulous idea and having all of my classes make one.

First thing I did was gather a large piece of white foam board and lots of colored "things". I went to my favorite place on the planet, Treasures 4 Teachers and found everything I needed. (Actually way more than I needed)

Yesterday I made an attempt at making a circle from a hula hoop...which by the way was bent and is no longer able to "hula". Then I pretended I knew how to pie my circle. The outcome is a circle that is crimped and pies that are uneven. Oh, well! The kids didn't seem to mind. They just told me it looked like a yummy pizza. :) I had my 5 yr old's paint the "pizza".

So, today I will have my 3's go through my box of colored "things" and sort and categorize them into colors.Tomorrow we shall endure the messy part.....gulp....getting out the glue and making a MESS!!!

  1. Ha ha - good luck with the messy part! I agree, Preschool Daze is fantastic!

  2. I tagged you in the Happy 101 Award! :)

  3. My teaching partner and I did this with a rainbow last year but I love the color wheel. I'm going to try it. Thanks!

  4. This looks like a ton of fun. The messy part is always the best part! That looks like a pretty nice floor there -- watch out!

  5. Hey Jessi,
I left you a Happy 101 Award on my fingerplay blog. Feel free to tag others if you wish but I mostly wanted to be able to share your blog with others.

  6. : )

we learn so much from each other!

    thanks for your kind words.

  7. I love it! I was planning something on a smaller scale for my preschoolers, but now it think I want to go big! Thanks!
